At a press conference Monday night, Houston publicly announced his resignation as the Head Coach of that Arkansas Razorback football team. After 10 years and the second longest tenure in the SEC, ESPN.com is reporting that Nutt will receive a settlement "in the neighborhood of $3.5 million". This settlement comes as a result of a "golden handcuffs" clause being lifted bythe University. The clause stated that Nutt would have to pay $500,000 if he were to take another head coaching position. Chancellor John White stated mutliple times that the Nutt's resignation a personal decision and was not forced in any way.

"Houston's decision to resign was neither forced, or encouraged, or requested," White said.

Defensive Coordinator Reggie Herring will serve as the Interim Head Coach for Arkansas' bowl game.

It is rumored that Houston is a candidate for the Baylor and Georgia Tech head coaching job, but NorthwestArkansas.com's sources are reporting that that Ole Miss is very interested. So interested that an announcement may come as soon as tomorrow that announces Nutt as their new Head Coach.
