I haven't always been a pet person… other than a small beta fish in my pre-teens that had a very short lifespan (probably due to it's owner, poor thing) we didn't have house pets growing up.
Good morning! Since most schools are closed, hopefully you're home with a cup of hot chocolate or maybe pitching a snowball or two at the neighbor! If you have to venture out, most major roads are fine, but be careful on side roads and in parking lots since there are still a lot of slick spots. Road with a lot of shade still have some pretty big sheets of ice. So just be careful and - enjoy your snowday Friday!
Today I took the back way home. Driving past the quiet little houses (some of them really, really old but well-kept, like maybe somebody's Gramma lives there) on the country road and the autumn colored trees I settled into reflection.
Facebook is officially my new social assistant.
Thursday of last week I jumped on facebook to check my feed and "Fashion's Night Out" popped up… how could I miss a night of "Fashion, treats, and drinks…" at the Shoppes at Pinnacle Hills? Since I live in Fayetteville, I hadn't seen any of their handy little flyers around and would've completely missed it had someone not posted it to facebook. Once again, a reason to appreciate facebook as your news feed for what's happening around Northwest Arkansas!
So after work I zipped up to Rogers to check it all out.
Nothing like a clear October day in Northwest Arkansas - it's a perfect 69 degrees with the sun shining it's brightest. Met my sister for lunch and as Margaret Mead said,
"What's the good of news if you haven't a sister to share it?"
Nothing is quite as exciting until I've filled her in on it. We just joined forces here at goNWA.com with Dylan Ralston, owner of Hook & Reel designs - a social media guru.
So we caught up over sushi and a spectacular view of Fayetteville from the patio of Shogun. Check out their website which was designed by our very own Dylan Ralston and let us know if you need one too!
There are things that we all just LOVE about Northwest Arkansas. Like making your way to a familiar patio on a perfect evening. Or exploring one of the constant reminders of an optimistic Northwest Arkansas economy - a new spot. Tonight, the first evening of Fall, TJ (my husband) and I made our way to Dickson Street in Fayetteville for a laid back patio dinner.
Not really sure where we'd end up, we spotted Hammontree's Grilled Cheese and made it our dinner choice. If you haven't checked them out yet, you need to. A fresh take, they make from scratch soups, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and gourmet hot dogs (they also offer organic salads).
As a woman, you know special things happen when you’re with your girls. There’s something renewing that happens when you’re with your close circle of women friends who you admire, respect and love. How about a big circle. Like over 1,200 circle.
