There are things that we all just LOVE about Northwest Arkansas. Like making your way to a familiar patio on a perfect evening. Or exploring one of the constant reminders of an optimistic Northwest Arkansas economy - a new spot. Tonight, the first evening of Fall, TJ (my husband) and I made our way to Dickson Street in Fayetteville for a laid back patio dinner.

Not really sure where we'd end up, we spotted Hammontree's Grilled Cheese and made it our dinner choice. If you haven't checked them out yet, you need to. A fresh take, they make from scratch soups, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and gourmet hot dogs (they also offer organic salads).

Next we headed up Dickson to check out a newbie: Farrell's Lounge Bar & Grill. This 11-day old restaurant is right across from Bordino's on Dickson, and wow - what a great addition! They've completely renovated the inside with a cozy lounge on your left as you walk into an impressive bar area with shuffleboard and billiards in the back. Since we'd already eaten, we settled for desert - creme brulee which was great. This GastroPub is definitely our next stop for dinner on Dickson.

This is exactly why we love Northwest Arkansas. Old places, new ones. Familiar locals, new acquaintances. The end of our Northwest Arkansas summer, the beginning of a beautiful Fall.
